Project Description
Root Policy prepared the city’s Consolidated Plan, Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice and a Housing Market Analysis for McKinney, Texas. This study had a special focus on employment-related housing needs, including unique needs stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, and targeted areas for revitalization. We developed a framework for how needs should be prioritized based on magnitude and severity of needs. Our recommended strategies to guide future decisions were influenced by regulatory barriers and market opportunities, available resources, and housing programs and policy.

Through tailored data analysis and mapping, the housing study identified the types of households with the greatest needs and pinpointed areas where revitalization efforts should be focused.
