Project Description
Root Policy was contracted by the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Authority (SHRA) to provide technical assistance, industry best practices, and revised monitoring and training materials for the deployment of Federal funding from Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS/HIV (HOPWA). SHRA, like all entitlement cities and counties during the COVID-19 pandemic, received a dramatic increase in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) block grant funds under the CARES Act, and needed to navigate new and revised federal reporting requirements. SHRA remains committed to deploying these funds in a responsible manner. Root is currently assisting SHRA to ensure that the agency’s policies and procedures, including the monitoring of subrecipients, are compliant with federal regulations and utilize industry best practices.
