Project Description
For Salt Lake City Corporation, we conducted a housing market study that focused on affordable housing needs. This traditional market analysis culminated in a formal presentation to potential city partners to expand the city’s existing housing trust fund and explore alternative revenue strategies for housing, including a commercial and residential linkage fee.
We also worked with the city to conduct focus groups with residents who are opposed to affordable housing in their neighborhoods to better understand and address their concerns.

Utah has some of the strongest housing resources in the country, including a statewide trust fund, requirements that development supported by public investment contain affordable housing, requirements for municipalities to evaluate their housing needs, and source of income protections.
