Project Description
We conducted a housing inventory and affordability analysis for the city. The primary purpose of the study was to help the Tempe understand current affordability of existing housing stock and to inform future decision-making related to housing affordability. The scope of work included a demographic and income profile, an analysis of existing housing stock, a peer community affordability analysis, and an extensive gaps analysis by tenure, income, and housing type. The study also addressed the student impact on the housing market.

Tempe’s housing stock is unusual in that the majority (57%) is attached housing; 43% is made up of single family homes.
